I hope that it could become part of the standard library once it's done. That would rule out the GPL at least.

BSD License? :-)

Hello maxm,

Thanks for taking the time to write this Library. Is there any chance of getting the library under a looser license (even compared to the LGPL) like the X11, MBSD/BSD, etc.. license? I work for a small python developing company which would like to use the library but the LGPL stills scares them off from it.
